Inside a Sip & Stitch: What to Expect at Our Favorite Event

June 21, 2025

Imagine this: Soft music, cozy lighting, a table full of stitchers laughing, sipping wine, and sharing projects in progress.

Welcome to Sip & Stitch, one of Nook & Needle’s most-loved community events.

Whether you're a seasoned stitcher or totally new to the craft, this is the perfect way to unwind, meet like-minded makers, and work on something creative in a low-pressure, welcoming environment.

If you’ve been curious but unsure about attending—here’s a peek inside what makes these events so special.

What Is a “Sip & Stitch,” Anyway?

It’s exactly what it sounds like: a relaxed gathering where we stitch, sip, and socialize.

You bring a project (or grab one in-store), we provide the space, the vibes, and sometimes even wine or themed snacks. No pressure, no instruction (unless you ask!), and no expectations other than having a good time.

Some events are BYOB, some include a featured drink or tea pairing—check the event listing for details!

Do I Need to Be an Expert?

Not at all. Our events are open to all skill levels—from absolute beginners to advanced stitchers.

We often have people working on:

  • Cross-stitch projects

  • Embroidery

  • Knitting or crochet

  • Hand-sewing or quilting blocks

Not sure what to bring? We’ll help you pick something from our shelves that’s perfect for your level.

What Should I Bring?

Here's a quick checklist:

  • ✅ Your current project (or come early to shop one)

  • ✅ Your favorite beverage (if it's a BYO night)

  • ✅ A friend—or come solo and meet new ones

  • ✅ A sense of humor and a willingness to unwind

We provide seating, lighting, scissors, and community—you just bring the stitching magic.

We also host themed nights like:

  • Stitch & Scream (spooky patterns + horror books)

  • Slow Stitch Sundays (tea + slow projects)

  • Pride & Patterns (LGBTQ+ makers night)

  • Cozy Book Pairings (book + stitch recs)

Come As You Are
